Prevalence of Hepatitis C Virus Infection in Haemodialysis Patients from One Centre in Tripoli, Liby

End stage renal disease (ESRD) patients on maintenance haemodialysis (HD) are at high risk of acquiring hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. There is a high prevalence of hepatitis viruses among HD patients all over the world. Serious sequelae may occur due to the absence of effective treatment for hepatitis C virus. Lack of data on the prevalence of this virus and it's risk factors among HD patients in Tripoli, Libya would increase the incidence rate of this virus.
